Get the Shot Every Time with Automatic On/Off
AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport can be switched on/off automatically by the logger it is connected to. Simply decide what period of non-activity triggers the camera to switch-off. Both operations can also be carried out using the keyboard if you prefer.
Recording can also be started/stopped automatically or via keyboard: the camera will start recording when a set speed or RPM threshold is exceeded. You simply decide how long after dropping below the selected threshold the video will automatically stop.

Lenses Designed WIth Motorsports In Mind
Being a camera dedicated to motorsports, AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport features lenses specifically designed to eliminate distortion. The camera is available in two versions: 67º and 84º field-of-view. The former is most suited to in-car, closed-cockpit use. The latter is best used mounted to the exterior of either open- or closed-cockpit cars.

Coil RPM: the Solo 2 DL now features a digital input allowing to log RPM either from square wave signals (8-50 V each signal) or pulse signals (150-450 V ignition coil trigger – primary circuit).

Solo 2 DL has access to a database of more than 3,000 tracks all over the world! LCU-One CAN is the lambda controller unit designed to work exclusively with Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband probes, which are the quickest and most accurate way to analyse exhaust gases and provide a real time parameter related to engine carburetion.
Lambda probes can be applied to two- and four-strokes engines, gasoline, diesel, methane or alcohol based fuels.
LCU-One CAN communicates with your AiM MXL, MXL2, or MXG/MXS dash; EVO3/EVO4/EVO5 data logger; SoloDL lap timer; or MyChron4/MyChron5 kart dash via CAN. This provides lambda value, air/fuel ratio, probe temperature and diagnostics parameters. The GPS09 module from AiM further expands the track mapping abilities of AiM data loggers and dash loggers. In addition, the GPS09 allows lap timing (even split times) without the use of trackside beacons, storing data for up to 50 tracks with up to 5 splits per track. The GPS09 can also calculate and log speed, lateral and longitudinal g-forces, and of course vehicle position.The GPS09 is the latest version, boasting a quicker 25 Hz sampling rate (up from 10 Hz) and positional accuracy to less than one foot (down from 2 meters). It also takes full advantage of Race Studio 3's integration of GPS, video, and data.
Simple to install: Just connect the CAN cable to your dash and mount the magnetic-backed GPS antenna to your vehicle roof. The GPS unit willl even automatically configure itself during start-up!
The GPS09 connects via a 5-pin 712 screw-in conncetor and is compatible with current-generation AiM MXL2/ MXG/MXP/MXS auto dashes, EVO4S/EVO5 data loggers, and SmartyCam HD GP 2.2. Choose a cable length to suit your installation: 1.3m (4 ft) is appropriate for most formula cars and bikes. 4m (13 ft) is long enough for sedans.

SmartyCam requires the AiM 7-pin to 5-pin CAN Cable (Part No. MC-542, included with the SmartyCam). The ECU Bridge also features a special port for a USB cable (included) for easy connection to your computer for setup. ECU Bridge is available with CAN/RS232 connection, for direct installation on aftermarket ECUs.
ECU Bridge and RPM Bridge are needed whenever engine data are to be visualized on a display or on a SmartyCam HD video, if no recording is required. ECU Bridge is used when the ECU transmits data via OBDII, CAN or RS232.
AiM has developed hundreds of different protocols to make compatibility with virtually any ECU possible, stock or aftermarket. ECU Bridge has to be properly configured with Race Studio 2 software to communicate with the different visors/cameras on one side and ECUs on the other side.

AiM MyChron Expansion
The AiM MyChron Expansion is an add-on for the MyChron4 or MyChron5 Kart Racing Data Logging Dash. It plugs into the CAN expansion port on your MyChron dash to expand its capabilities. The Expansion has a single CAN expansion port plus four additional sensor inputs. All four inputs can accept common karting sensors (brake/throttle pedal position, temperature, steering angle, etc.). One of the four inputs can accept a speed sensor instead. Requires an external 12-volt power source such as your kart's battery.
The MyChron Expansion channel multiplier improves MyChron5 and MyChron5 2T (and also MyChron4 and MyChron4 2T) performance, thanks to four additional channels and a further CAN bus connector. Through this last connector, the systems can be connected to LCU-One Lambda controller and SmartyCam HD (and to GPS and Data key for MyChron4 systems).
Thanks to its specific wirings, MyChron Expansion powers the systems and their peripherals with an external battery, avoiding internal battery consumption.
All channels are easily configurable as analog through the system menu to sample data coming from:
Exhaust gas valve position sensor (very important to understand at which RPM value the exhaust port opens)
Wheel speed sensor: the first input on the left can be configured also as digital input
No contact brake pedal position sensor
No contact throttle pedal position sensor
Brake pressure sensor
Water temperature or cylinder head temperature (PT100 thermo-resistor only)
Steering angle potentiometer (to highlight over/under steering situations)
Brake pedal potentiometer
Throttle pedal potentiometer
